Mihaela Michailov is a playwright, co-founder of the Replica Educational Theater Center in Bucharest and a professor of dramaturgy at the National University of Theater and Cinematography „I.L. Caragiale ”, Bucharest. She is also a theater critic, collaborator of important cultural publications, such as: Cultural Observatory, Old Dilemma, Culture Supplement, Scena.ro. As a playwright, she has participated in scholarships and drama residencies offered by the Royal Court Theater in London, the Lark Theater in New York and the Récollets – International Center for Artistic Residencies in Paris. In 2006 she won the UNITER Award for Best Song of the Year. Her texts are staged on state or independent stages in Romania and around the world, being translated into Bulgarian, English, French, German, Italian, Hungarian and Spanish. The topics they address are focused on sensitive topics, such as violence in the education system, the relationship between parents and children, the situation of minors whose parents are working abroad. Really concerned with the educational area, Mihaela Michailov coordinates theater workshops for children and adolescents, holds conferences on theater and dance in Romania and carries out a sustained activity of training and education through theater.
