Thursday, October 27, 2022, between 14:00 and 18:00, ONLINE and will be held by trainer Caitlin Southwick.
Culture and sustainability go hand in hand – preservation of our art and heritage inherently includes preservation of our planet and our species. As cultural professionals, we play a vital role in promoting sustainability globally, but we also need to practice what we preach. This session will explore the cultural professional’s role in sustainability, how the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals connect to our daily jobs, and what current trends and solutions are available. From energy efficiency to materials use and community engagement, this session will provide practical tips and resources as well as thematic context to leave participants with concrete action points and critical thinking skills to start applying sustainability to their practice. The session will include open discussion for examining specific questions and needs, as well as addressing larger conversations about culture’s role in the climate crisis and social justice movements.
